Day 31 – Day at Sea

We’re sailing towards Ft. Lauderdale now, arriving in 2 days. Our course runs us between Haiti on the east, Jamaica further west, and a narrow strait between Cuba and Haiti later tonight. I took a picture of Haiti as we sailed past within 10 miles from shore. Not much to look at, but there it is.

Continuing on our beach day in Aruba yesterday, we spent the morning on the upper aft deck, taking advantage of the sunny skies and sparse crowds on the deck in the morning, cooling off occasionally in the pool, and keep refreshed from the nearby deck bar.

A shout out to my friend Jim, who doesn’t go anywhere without beer cozies for him and his wife. I’ve learned and have my cozies ready for use on the sun deck.

Tonight was Gala Night. We dressed up for one final time for dinner. I tried the King Fish, which was very good. It looks like a Mackerel, but has the texture of Swordfish, with its own unique flavor. Dessert was Chocolate Lava Cake.

We got our disembarkment package today. Uggh! We’re assigned the group at 8:30 AM for bus transport to Ft. Lauderdale airport. Tomorrow is pack day 🥲. But first another upper deck morning.
